What was your favorite moment from the wedding day?
That is so incredibly tough to answer, but I will try to narrow it down! Walking into the park after hours, with it being set up just for us, was truly incredible! I was so sick during the wedding, but that isn't what I remember most about the wedding. I remember the look for Sunset Boulevard with the ceremony set up, the Tower of Terror in the background, and a feeling of being the only two people in the entire world! It was so neat walking into Hollywood Studios, as the last guests were trickling out and being met with children calling me a princess! I will always remember this for the rest of my life! When we go to Hollywood Studios, as we often do, every time we are there, we both mention how that was the absolute coolest thing we have ever done, and we will never forget it!
How did you feel when you first saw everything come together at the venue?
It was an out-of-body experience! Seeing everything we had dreamed of come together in our most favorite place on earth was an amazing experience! We felt so special and so lucky! We were informed our event was the only event not canceled or moved indoors due to the wedding, and while we were incredibly sad for the others who had to move their events (I cannot imagine the let down), we reflected on how perfectly everything came together for us and how fortunate we were to be doing this at our favorite place on earth.
Was there a part of the planning process that stood out as especially enjoyable or memorable for you?
We are not much into planning things for ourselves. Other people? I love it! For ourselves, I will pass! Truly, while Disney was relatively easy to work with, we did have some trouble about a month prior to the wedding. Que in Michelle from Fairy Tales & Wedding Bells stepping in to save the day! We had originally decided to "just do everything ourselves," and so we did just that for nearly a year. The month before the wedding, big changes were being made by Disney, which we were not happy with. We did not understand why the changes were being made and how they were even allowed to make these changes. We were so stressed and truly moments away from canceling the wedding and being out several thousand dollars. I made a post on the Disney Fairytale Wedding page on Facebook and was shortly contacted by Michelle, who gave me a free consultation. It was not even ve minutes into the conversation that we had made the decision to hire her for the remaining time before the wedding and for the day of coordination! She set right to work helping us and made absolute MAGIC happen! I look back at that wedding day, and truly, she made the wedding everything it was, and I cannot imagine what the day would have looked like without her services, kind demeanor, and compassion. So, all in all, the most enjoyable part of the planning process was hiring Michelle and her team from Fairy Tales & Wedding Bells.
What was the most unexpected or pleasantly surprising part of your wedding day?
I think the most unexpected part of my wedding day was being the only event on property that was not canceled or moved indoors due to the weather! The most important part of the wedding to us was the venue; in fact, it was the only reason we were doing a wedding in the first place, as we have been together for a decade. We were so nervous, and when everything worked out, we were so incredibly pleasantly surprised!
How did your family and friends react to the overall experience and design of your wedding?
They thought it was out of this world! Everyone is still talking about it!
Were there any personal touches or details that felt particularly meaningful to you?
Truly, for us, being at the Tower of Terror was everything and meant the entire world to us! I would say I was incredibly sick, and the amount of support I got from each and every team member with Fairy Tales & Wedding Bells was really something I cannot even put into words, how much I appreciate. I would die for any of those amazing women because they really and truly were there in so many ways as if I were their best friend :)
If you could give one piece of advice to couples currently planning their wedding, what would it be?
Not to sound like a rep for the business, but it would be to hire Fairy Tales & Wedding Bells. We wish we had done so sooner! Everyone was a pleasure to work with, and looking back, there are so many details we would have missed because we had no idea if we had not had them!
How did having us as your wedding planners make a difference in your experience?
Honestly, the only reason the wedding was what it was is due to the amazing team at Fairy Tales & Wedding Bells. I cannot say how many amazing things they did for us and me specifically, as I was miserably sick. They were so supportive and kept everything flowing in a way I know I did not have the capacity to, even on my best days. They made sure everything was perfect. Michelle fought for us with Disney. They made sure we were on time for everything. One amazing woman even got on her hands and knees to put my shoes on because I was sick and my dress was huge! Mind you, she was incredibly pregnant and did not have to do that! One of my friends (who is no longer my friend) was being an absolute bridezilla, and they were all in my corner! They got me snacks, air-conditioned areas, ice, a car, literally so much more! Everything was perfect, and it was all because of Michelle and her team at Fairy Tales & Wedding Bells.
What aspect of the wedding do you think your guests will remember the most?
I think my vows (because, so far, that is what I have been told) will be the thing most people remember. My only regret is not asking someone to videotape them, as I truly am a comedian. :)
Looking back, is there anything you’d do differently, or was it everything you hoped for and more?
Truly, the only thing I would change is having someone videotape our vows. It makes us want to redo them at some point...maaayyybbbeee a vowel renewal is in our future! :)
Is there anything else you want to add?
I truly cannot thank Fairy Tales & Wedding Bells enough for everything each and every one of them did. They made me feel so special and I am eternally grateful to them. :)
