Castles and Cranes - Cheers to those Choosing to staying Calm & KIT

If you were with us during the last castle repaint, you probably remember it well. Four cranes stood tall in the background from rope drop to park close, and while the work was necessary, it definitely made planning castle photos a bit more complicated.

This time, the story looks very different.

So Cheers to those who are Staying Calm

For the upcoming repaint, Disney is moving away from permanent cranes and instead using lift systems. These lifts are designed to be far less intrusive and are expected to be lowered by noon each day, allowing the castle to return to a more natural backdrop for the remainder of park operating hours. For our couples and portrait clients, that detail matters.

Even better, the castle will be painted systematically in sections. Rather than tackling the entire structure at once, the work will be phased to minimize visual impact and preserve as much of that classic fairytale look as possible throughout the process.

Timing and What This Means for You

Painting is scheduled to begin following the RunDisney Springtime Marathon. While some areas of the park may be affected, the project is expected to wrap up during the summer, well before Halloween festivities begin. The intention is clear: keep the magic visible while the work gets done.

Park Portraits and Planning with Confidence

If you have park portraits scheduled during this timeframe and feel impacted, take a breath. Portraits can often be rescheduled when needed. Our strongest recommendation is to KIT, keep in touch, with your Disney Fine Art representatives. They are the best source for real-time updates and may be able to assist with rescheduling options, even within the 30-day window.

At Fairy Tales & Wedding Bells, our role is to watch these details closely so you don’t have to. We’ll continue to guide you, adjust when needed, and protect the moments that matter most.

Because every fairytale deserves the right backdrop, and we’re here to make sure yours gets it.
